The goal of www.pisces.at

What is the best way to protect endangered species?
I don’t know! But, my feeling is that the first step is to have many people as possible know that a certain species exists and is in danger of becoming extinct. Today, aquatic habitats are the most endangered habitats in the world. They are threatened by overfishing, pollution, and destruction by humans. Therefore, the goal of pisces.at is to capture as many (fish) species as possible in photos, in excellent quality with all identification marks, to create awareness for their existence and protection.

Here is my gallery!

You will be able to see that most of the fish have been photographed on a white background. These are studio images of live unanesthetized fish. With this approach, the true colouration and fin shape can be relatively well presented. Such images are particularly useful for illustrations in publications such as brochures, flyers, or exhibitions, as well as scientific literature and books.

If you are interested in publishing any of these images (approx. 10x higher resolution is available), or would like your own specimens or species to be photographed in this manner, please contact me.

Have fun viewing the gallery!
